1. Joseph Eldridge IVEY (Vison³,James Jr.²,James Sr.¹) was born in Jul 1870 in Benson, Johnston County, North Carolina. He died in Des Moines, Iowa.

He was married to Mary Elizabeth SEAWELL (daughter of James Conley SEAWELL and Catherine M. PORTER). Mary Elizabeth SEAWELL was born on 7 Sep 1873 in North Carolina. She died on 22 Oct 1935 in Robeson County, North Carolina. Joseph and Mary had the following children:

2. Alice E. IVEY (Joseph Eldridge⁴,Vison³,James Jr.²,James Sr.¹) was born in Sep 1894. She died in Jan 1917 in Knoxville, Marion County, Iowa.

She was married to Noel Dunbar SHINN (son of Benoni Haskins SHINN and Elizabeth Orpha DUNBAR) on 2 Apr 1911 in Johnston County, North Carolina. Noel Dunbar SHINN was born on 26 Jan 1884 in Hamilton, Marion County, Iowa. He was an attorney. He was in the Humeston New Era (Humeston, Iowa) newspaper on 16 Jul 1913. The article read as follows: "At the special election held by ten members of Company D, Iowa National Guard at Knoxville, Ed Dawson was elected first lieutenant and Oliver Wall second lieutenant in place of Noel D. Shinn and R. S. Mentzer, who recently resigned." Alice and Noel had the following children:

7. Bonnie Elizabeth IVEY (Joseph Eldridge⁴,Vison³,James Jr.²,James Sr.¹) was born on 6 Oct 1910 in Durham, Durham, North Carolina. She died on 6 Aug 1995 in Leesburg, Loudon, Virginia. She was buried on 9 Aug 1995 in Toms Brook Cemetery, Shenandoah County, Virginia.

She was married to Everett LOYNACHAN. Everett LOYNACHAN was born on 16 Feb 1904. He died on Nov 1970 in Knoxville, Marion County, Iowa.

She was married to NICHOLS and they have one living child.

9. Benoni Eldridge SHINN (Callie E. Ivey⁵,Joseph Eldridge⁴,Vison³,James Jr.²,James Sr.¹) was born in 1919.

He was married to Edith LAPSI. Edith LAPSI was born on 28 Jun 1917. She died on 24 Oct 1992 in Knoxville, Marion County, Iowa. Benoni and Edith have three living children.
